My adventure to Bonnet
My name is Emanuel VANDEN BERGHE. I am a tenor, pianist and painter, I am of Belgian nationality and I have been living in France since 2014. Born in Ostend (West Flanders).
I started my painting career very young as a pupil of my father, at the age of twelve I had the opportunity to take part in various international painting competitions, Mr. Herman Decroo the Belgian Minister of Dutch Culture and National Education presented me at the Dendermonde world painting and drawing contest of Belgium in 1975 the first prize award for my age category and the second world prize for my work.
After my studies at the Royal Conservatories of Brussels and Ghent as a pianist and singer I collaborated from 1989 with the opera of Flanders as first tenor being part of his fixed troupe until 2014-2015 .
Meanwhile I taught singing and piano in a private institute in Ostend, the institute of Madame Aimée Thonon, the wife of the painter of Ixelles origin, Anton Diez.
I also gave concerts all over Europe and even to Russia as a tenor soloist and beside that I also developed exercises for regeneration of voice and well-being that I transmitted with success.
In Belgium I was also founder of the project "Droes", previously "Diabolus in Musica", which aimed to introduce children to opera and the way of singing without microphone (the youngest of 4 to 5 years). After all the work done by myself to develop this project and my own investments the project has had great success, also in the media.The project was taken over by the educational service of the Flanders Opera.
When I discovered the beautiful nature and richness of architecture and history of Lorraine I decided to come to Meuse to create.
Here in Bonnet, a small village in Meuse, I play the role of messenger of culture in rural areas, organizing exhibitions as a painter and giving: concerts, my collaboration at small festivals, playing and singing masses (wedding,funerals and others) and celebrations (because there are no organists or accompaniers, what I take at my charge), .... I also give singing lessons. I have been doing all this pro deo since the first four years, taking charge of all expenses myself.
My house is a manor house that was part of the lordship of Bonnet, the lords among which members of the family Des Salles-de Beauvau have lived there. I am discovering its origin little by little.
I invite you with all my heart to stay in this magical Bed and Breakfast, where everyone can relax in these heavenly surrounds while admiring the nature and art around.
